Seasonal care

Spring Start Up

The first turn of the key each season, checked and confirmed safe before you ever leave the dock.

After months in storage, a boat needs more than a fresh coat of wax before it goes back in the water. American Marine's spring start up gets your engine, fluids, and safety equipment checked and ready, so the first trip of the season goes as smoothly as the last one of the year before.

What's included

Get Ready For The Water

Engine de-winterizing

Fogging oil cleared, fluids checked, and the engine brought back to running condition after winter storage.

Impeller & belts

The raw water pump impeller and belts inspected, wear items that are far easier to replace in the spring than to discover mid season.

Battery & electrical check

Batteries reinstalled, charged, and tested, along with a check of the electrical system after months of sitting.

Safety equipment check

Fire extinguishers, flares, and other safety gear checked for expiration before the season gets going.

Why it matters

Why The First Start Should Not Be a Surprise

Sitting is hard on an engine

An engine that has not run in months can develop issues that only show up once it is back under load, which is why a proper start up checks more than just whether it turns over.

Small parts wear while sitting still

Rubber components like impellers and belts can crack or degrade from sitting idle all winter, not just from being used.

The first trip should not be the test

A spring start up catches problems on the trailer or at the dock, not out on the water on the first warm weekend of the year.

Ready before the first weekend out

Getting your boat started up early means it is ready to go the moment the weather turns, not scrambled together at the last minute. Stop in and we will get you on the schedule.
